Every Christmas the Madden DeLuca Foundation provides Christmas Hampers to four long term Stollery families. The families are selected by the staff at the Stollery. The families we are given are families who are struggling not only emotionally but also financially. They generally have multiple children, a single income and a long medical road ahead of them. We want to help these families give their children a much deserved reason to smile at Christmas.

The hampers include everything from toys to clothing to food to gift cards and are tailored to the specific family as much as possible. Gift cards are great so that the parents are able to go out and buy some items for their children themselves. Gift cards for gas and groceries are also great to help these families out in the difficult times ahead.

Information on our 2016 families will be posted in early

November. Every year we also try to donate some toys to the Edmonton Ronald McDonald House to help stock their Magic Room. The Magic Room is a place where children are allowed to go and pick out a toy on special days - last day of treatment, birthdays, release from the hospital etc. The room truly is magic for these children and is probably my favourite room in the house.
