Hello, I've been meaning to message you for ages, and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reach out. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful work you do to help families and children at the Stollery. My son Silas spent the first 3.5 months of his life at the Stollery last fall, mostly in the NICU and PICU. When we were given the package from the Madden Deluca Foundation in the first few days, I started bawling, so grateful that someone cared and understood about what our family was going through. Everything in the package was so useful - even if Silas couldn't wear clothes for a couple months! I know the sock monkey was supposed to be for him, but I ended up taking it home and setting up a "Silas shrine" with the sock monkey and photos of my little boy to remember him whenever I wasn't able to be at the hospital. I have tremendous respect for your ability to transform your loss and grief into such a wonderful legacy for your son. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you again for bringing a ray of light into an otherwise very difficult time for my family.
